We were a Hong Kong tour group that stopped here for a presentation of the offerings of the gift store and then lunch. The decor is fairly modern looking, and the building is well-lit and welcoming. The gift store is the largest that I saw in the time that we were on the South Island, including furs, apparel, merino wool items, and honey-based gifts, and pricing was comparable to that which I saw elsewhere.

They also sold some items that mostly only Asian people would be interested in, such as fish maws. There is a beautiful garden next to the building well worth a stop for photos. Read more. Ashburton District

Farmers Corner in Ashburton is a one stop for all. Lavender farm is outside the main building, next to it is the lovely garden. A modern restaurant with Asian Meals and Japanese Teppayaki. The gift shop has product all made in New Zealand, from honey to beauty products, health supplements, merino and possum products etc. Phils00n wrote a review Oct. We have had dinner at the restaurant, food were good.

After dinner, we did some duty free shopping.

Non-smoking hotel. No rating available. I stayed here recently for a conference and it turned out to be an ideal venue. The food was good, the rooms where we had the conference were well equipped and easy to navigate and the wait staff were attentive Very nice quick one night stop over here, the hosts were super friendly and helpful!

Even when my husband woke you up in the wee hours of the morning when he got lost walking home! Our room was really clean and tidy Free Internet -- it is always clean. If you are heading south of Christchurch and want to stay someplace the first night after arriving Tinwald Motel is certainly an easy drive. It is sometimes difficult to spot from the road because it is behind a Booked in for four nights, the owners could not have been more friendly or helpful.

The rooms were large and super clean. My only slight criticism would be that the walls between rooms are thin. Could hear next Welcomed by a friendly lovely couple. Shown the rooms. Made to feel at home. They provided guidance and local recommendations. Definitely recommend and would happily return again.

We spent an overnight stay with Jim and Karen to break the trip on our drive from the Marlborough Region to Queenstown. What a delightful place Carradale Manor turned out to be. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

The garden is extraordinary and I can highly recommend the full breakfast. Home made bread, fresh preserves and oh those peaches!
