Dating Taranaki Women
Majestic Mt Taranaki set the scene for one of the highlights of our New Zealand holiday. After a stunning, yet challenging mountain sprint of sorts up to Stratford Plateau it was heavenly to return to a warm shower with views as far as the eye can see and a lovely home cooked meal and a cold beer!
The communal style brekky was great to interact with other travellers. And Dawson Falls is a cracker.

A quirky, historic lodge situated on the side of Mt Taranaki as far up as you can drive. Nearby is Dawson Falls and a few other walks. Because of the age of the building and the fact they use an ancient water powered generator, then power is supplied as both DC and AC and therefore you have to be careful what you plug in where.
Furnished like a Swiss mountain lodge, each room is different and there's a large cosy lounge heated by log fires. There's nowhere nearby to eat so why not eat in - a small selection, but good food and breakfast is included. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and had it bee clear, there would ahve been a perfect view of Mt Taranaki from the lounge window. Children's Court
The warmth of this place was not only from the two huge fireplaces but also from the very welcoming staff as well. Both Kimberly and Donna were outstanding hosts. The food was superb and very generous portions. The bedrooms were so warm with special heating pads under the comfy beds. We will make a return visit.
