But he said it had been a frustrating business trying to push the Ministry of Health and Fletchers to reach agreement on what was a "flawed and complex contract".

The penalty clauses were pathetic; basically there was no incentive for Fletchers to get in there and finish the job," O'Connor said.

Not too good when it is Summer where you have a very early and long daylight. Greymouth not our cup of tea but hotel was fine. Restaurant nearby was good. Only one night stay on way to Nelson. Fully equipped apartment with anything you can imagine and cannot. Enormous with modern decor. A bit far away from Greymouth city centre but no problem with a car. Unfortunately wifi was out of order during my stay.

The unit was excellent for what we needed. The only thing we would comment on was the possible need of a non-slip mat in the shower recess This is an observation not a criticism in any way. We had a most comfortable and surprising 3 days, the owners were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are excellent in size and decor and the additional recreation facilities were more than expected.

We have paid a great deal more for a Hotel stay that was nothing in comparison to this establishment. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. My name us Roy Mackin My name us Roy Mackin and we have spent 2 months touring New Zealand from UK, this is the best we stayed at throughout.

We had a comfortable night at the holiday park, and although we didn't stay long, we were still pleased. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was in a great location next to the beach great on a warm day. If in Greymouth again, I wouldn't hesitate booking here again. Loved our stay here was amazing from the accommodation to the view a real hidden gem.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Have the hotel next door with great meals was an added bonus. It is a little bit our of Greymouth but it is quiet and right by the beach. We had a nice walk along the beach we were delighted with this location and accomodation. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back. Al and Rosie are very hospitable and friendly.

What You Need to Know

Felt like home. I got a piece of homemade carrot pie when I arrived. Room is very clean and cosy. Flowers in de room. Breakfast is the best I have had in NZ. Homemade bread, yoghurt, muesli, fresh fruit etc. It was a pity I could only stay one night. We really enjoyed our stay.

For the price we were expecting very basic accommodation, but our room was fantastic and the lodge overall is one of the best equipped that I have come across.

Fantastic decor of statues, ornaments, furniture and pictures from around the world, and a well equipped kitchen. We used the bikes which are free to hire, and paid a really small cha We used the bikes which are free to hire, and paid a really small charge to use the hot tub which was great. We didn't stay long in Greymouth itself and didn't know much about the area, but for the lodge itself I'd recommend a visit.

Was a welcome suprise to stay at such a spotlessly clean and new premises. Little thoughtful touches everywhere - we had a very comfortable night here. Superbly located and spacious, excellent TV options in each room and wifi, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The host Kriston is friendly and approachable. Room was cozy and equipped with a portable warmer. Utenstils, bread toaster, and everything there is to a good bath. Definitely recommended for a short stay over passing by greymouth. You get pay tv, a decent room, fairly good bathroom for a reasonable price.

Greymouth is not the most happening town, we stayed here as a stop off after the catching the tranzalpine train, not too much to do here. The restaurant attached to the hotel is a very good one, decent bfast offered. The hosts made us feel at home.

Made us a nice cup of tea with biscuits and chocolates after a long drive. We were also treated with fresh eggs from their barn. We'll definitely recommend this place if you're planning a trip to Greymouth. Just out of town in Greymouth, nice place to get a rest and hot shower. Pool looked nice but still a bit cold to go swimming. Beach just a stones throw away, spent some time just north at point elizabeth, magic views.

Friendly and helpful staff. She recommended some nice places to visit in Greymouth. Creatively decorated room with a comfortable bed and a heater to warm up the room. Have plenty of board games for us to play. Well equipped and clean kitchen. Not sure how does the shower work but had a hard time before getting the hot water running. Overall it was a pleasant stay Overall it was a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend to others who will be staying in Greymouth. We had a one nite stop over on our way to Westport. The motel is very well positioned to the town.

There is off street parking and easily accessed from the street. The room is very well layed out and has everything you need for a short or longer stay for two or three people.
